New Projects & Fun Adventures

Let the fun begin!!! We have been living in our home now for 3 years. When we first moved in we had just one sweet little puppy who is Bama. Since then we have added Forrest Gump and the love of Chris life, Buddy. We would keep them in a pin during the day outside and at night they were always allowed to stay inside to get spoiled and lots of loving. We just returned from a trip to Missouri and knew that before we could leave that we would have to provide the dogs with a much larger living space while were gone. So the wheels started turning.....after much talk and decisions to be made we finally decided on a chain link fence for the backyard. Getting the chain link fence installed was the easy part to say the least. There was much preparations that had to be done to the yard. Arleigh's large wooden swing set had to be disassembled and moved to the other side of the driveway, the upper and lower part of the deck had to be closed in so the little ones couldn't escape, the propane tank had to be enclosed so Buddy couldn't jump on it which would allow him to jump over the top of the deck. Chris built them a rather large dog house that they all love.

Now that the backyard is fenced in we had to decide what we wanted to do with the old pin. It's a great set up for a club house. The base is a large concrete pad that will be cleaned and pressure washed. We will install indoor/outdoor carpet, new walls will be added inside and out. Windows will be installed, shelving on the inside, furniture to sit on and a little painting. A little girls dream to have her own club house that she has asked for is finally coming true and she is so excited.

This is the start to Arleigh's club house

Here we come Jamestown, Missouri!!! Chris and I took a mini trip to Missouri this past week to visit some friends. We headed out on Wednesday and had a good trip traveling up. Once we arrived we just chilled our first evening and took in the beautiful views.

I love these old red barns.

Then on Thursday we started getting some freezing rain and snow flakes. Needless to say we ended up with about 3 1/2 inches of snow. It was absolutely beautiful. Our trip was wonderful and we had a great time with our friends. There is nothing better than having a great group of friends that you can just be yourself around and hang out with. Then all great things had to come to an end, but we are really looking forward to our next trip to Missouri.

First time for everything

Last year Arleigh asked if she could be apart of the school pageant. So when school started this year we asked her if she was still interested in participating, of course her answer was yes. If it involves dressing up, getting hair fixed and putting on make-up Arleigh is always ready to be apart of it. So on February 19th she was in the Corner pageant for Elementary and Middle school students. Weeks before we went looking for the perfect dress. After two places and several dresses later, she found her favorite dress....pink of course. The night before Arleigh had a 2 hour practice on how to walk on stage, then it was off to get spray tanned. Her Aunt Michele also came over to roll her hair so it would be perfect for the pageant. Saturday morning she woke up excited and ready to go, but not before she put in her special breakfast request of pancakes and bacon. Aunt Michele came back over to do her make-up and fix her hair. She was absolutely stunning when everything was complete. Then it was off to strut her stuff on stage. Arleigh was 2nd Alternate in her division and also won the judges choice for most photogenic. She was so excited and we were all so proud of her. She is looking forward to other pageants in her future and I think she is preparing for one in the next couple of months.
